President Kagame met with Prof. José Manuel Barroso, Chair of the Gavi board, on the sidelines of the Global Forum for Vaccine Sovereignty and Innovation.
According to the Rwandan State House, they discussed the recently inaugurated BioNTech vaccine manufacturing facility inaugurated in December in Rwanda which will serve as the first end- to-end mRNA production facility.
They also reiterated their joint commitment to vaccine sovereignty and equitable access to vaccines across the continent.
Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, helps vaccinate half the world’s children against deadly and debilitating diseases. (End)
