President Kagame met with Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), for a discussion on the fruitful collaboration between Rwanda and the IMF.
Rwanda is the third country worldwide alongside Costa Rica and Barbados, and the first African country to benefit from IMF Resilience and Sustainability Trust, which is currently serving to fund key climate change initiatives.
Rwanda secured US$ 319 million highly concessional financing to advance efforts in building resilience against climate change.
President Kagame and Kristalina Georgieva met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum special meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development. (End)
