President Kagame had a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Davis of the Bahamas.
President Kagame congratulated the Prime Minister on the Golden Jubilee of independence and thanked him for his visit to Rwanda during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) last year.
The meeting discussed strengthening collaboration between the Bahamas and Rwanda by building on the existing ties between the two nations.
President Kagame is in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, to attend the country’s 50th anniversary of independence.
On July 10th, 1973, after 300 years of being a colony, the Bahamas peacefully gained independence and transitioned to nationhood.
Kagame started his Caribbean visit on July 5, first stopping in Trinidad and Tobago to attend the 45th Meeting of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM).
