This afternoon at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame officiated the swearing-in of new cabinet members recently appointed to new positions.
The officials who took oath are Gen (Rtd) James Kabarebe, who is the new appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in Charge of Regional Cooperation; and Francis Gatare who is the new CEO of Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and Cabinet Member.
“In everything we do, we should always assess why we do not do what we pledge as leaders and understand that this can have an impact in the lives of our citizens, ” said President Kagame after the swearing-in ceremony held at Urugwiro Village.
In his remarks of the day, President Kagame reminded all serving leaders that their work is to serve the citizens and the country, insisting on reminding themselves that they are working to transform citizens’ lives for the better; and not working for their own gains.
President Kagame said when leaders don’t do what they are supposed to do, even the country lags behind because the world is more competitive today, more than ever, which isn’t a bad thing because competition is a way of life. (End).
