Yesterday in London, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame joined leaders from across the globe for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The first coronation in close to 70 years took place at the historic Westminster Abbey, where the coronation ceremony has taken place for the last nine centuries.
King Charles III was crowned Saturday at London’s Westminster Abbey, in a lavish ceremony filled with the pomp and pageantry of a ceremony steeped in 1,000 years of tradition.
In a history-making moment in front of the hundreds in the congregation, and millions watching worldwide, the Archbishop of Canterbury slowly placed the 360-year-old bejewelled St. Edward’s Crown on King Charles’ head as he sat on a 14th century throne. (End)
