President Kagame received AU Special Envoy on Genocide Prevention

This afternoon at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame received a delegation led by African Union (AU) Special Envoy for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities, Adama Dieng who is on a tour of Eastern and Central Africa.

African Union Commission Chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat, appointed Adama Dieng as the AU special envoy during the 30th commemoration of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

The Senegalese jurist is a former UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide succeeded by Alice Wairimu Nderitu of Kenya and and a former registrar of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. (End)
