Presidents Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Petr Pavel of the Czech Republic held a bilateral meeting with their respective delegations.
They discussed next steps in furthering bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and Czech Republic, in areas of mutual interest including defence and security, health, trade and investment and technology.
Czech President Petr Pavel arrived in Rwanda for a three-day visit, marking his first trip to Africa in office. On Sunday 7 Avril, he will attend the 30th-anniversary commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi “Kwibuka 30” that claimed more than one million lives.
Pavel aims to meet President Paul Kagame and other dignitaries, alongside engaging with Czech expatriates in Rwanda.
Recognizing Rwanda’s potential as a stable partner with low corruption levels, President Pavel seeks to explore avenues for bilateral cooperation and business opportunities during his stay until Sunday.(End)
