Kigali: President Kagame today received his Sierra Leonean counterpart President Julius Maada Bio who is in Rwanda on a three day official visit.
The meeting today involved bilateral talks, press statements and signing of three cooperation agreements which included; General Cooperation Agreement (GCA), Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations and Agreement in Exemption if Visa requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports.
Last year, the two countries also signed a Bilateral Air Service Agreement in the sidelines of the ICAO Air Services Negotiations meeting held in Nairobi.
President Bio also attended the 25th Anniversary of Rwanda’s Liberation and will conclude his visit with a tour of the Kigali Special Economic Zone.
Rwanda and Sierra Leone enjoy cordial relations. Both countries are members of the AU, UN and Commonwealth. Sierra Leone ratified the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) in April this year. (End)
