President Kagame, WHO boss discussed on tracking of Marburg virus in Rwanda

On the sidelines of the 19th Summit of La Francophonie in Paris, President Kagame met with Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO). 

They discussed the ongoing successful collaboration in the tracking and containment of the Marburg virus in Rwanda as well as ways to enhance disease control and prevention.

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Rwanda declared a Marburg virus disease (MVD) outbreak on 27 September 2024. As of 04 October, 41 confirmed cases and 12 deaths have been reported. (End)
