Qatar Aeronautical Academy (QAA) and Aviation Travel and Logistics Holding Limited (ATL) in partnership with Akagera Aviation Limited (AA) agreed to build cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “Aviation Capacity Building”; thus, in spirit of cooperation for exchange of knowledge and experience in training for various expertise in the aviation industry, including training for pilots and aircraft maintenance engineers.
This business relationship is in line with the willing of the State of Qatar and the Government of Rwanda to closely cooperate in various areas of development and most specifically in a sustainable growth of the aviation industry in both countries.
The MoU was signed by Sheikh Jabor Bin Hamad Al Thani, Director General of QAA and Eng. Jules Ndenga, Interim Chief Executive Officer of ATL and witnessed by Mr. Patrick Nkulikiyimfura, Managing Director of AA.
The two partners strongly believe in the role a vibrant aviation industry plays in the development of their respective countries and will contribute through the partnership in a sustainable growth of their business placing the human capital in the centre of their focus.
In his remarks, Sheikh Jabor Bin Hamad Al Thani indicated that: “ Qatar Aeronautical Academy, aims to prepare qualified cadres, according to the highest international quality standards, QAA-ATL Memorandum of Understanding included emphasizing support and strengthening cooperation between the two sides and establishing joint cooperation in various fields of aviation training, with an outstanding ability to integrate our education, training, innovation and enterprise for the long-term benefits of both organizations”.
Eng. Jules Ndenga stated in the same spirit that: “The partnership with Qatar Aeronautical Academy is yet another important milestone into the vibrant relationships between our two states in the area of aviation. It also comes in time to supply highly skilled professionals to our industry with synergic cooperation in human resource development”.
Qatar Aeronautical Academy (QAA) is the Gulf region’s leading provider of training for the aviation industry. QAA offers full-time approved courses for Pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Air Traffic Controllers, Meteorologists, Airport Operations Management Personnel and Flight Dispatchers, as well as short courses in a wide variety of aviation-related disciplines. QAA also offers maintenance services for small aircrafts.
ATL is a holding wholly owned by the Government of Rwanda (GoR) established with the mission of managing aviation related activities including travel, logistics, ground, freight and cargo handling, as well as charter services. ATL Ltd has five subsidiaries including RwandAir, Rwanda Airport Company (RAC) and Akagera Aviation Ltd. AA offers trainings for pilots and helicopter maintenance engineers and is willing to expand its training activities with a synergic partnership with QAA. (End)
