RDF military prosecutors, investigators and judges completed training on forensic sample collection

Twenty-two Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Military Prosecutors, Investigators and Judges have completed National Investigators Training on forensic sample collection. 

The training which took place in Kigali was conducted in partnership with Rwanda Forensic Institute.

During the training, the participants acquired skills focusing on evidence handling and the chain of custody in cases of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA).

During the closing ceremony, Colonel Pacifique Kabanda, Military Prosecutor General, highlighted the necessity of training in managing criminal cases and urged the participants to apply the skills acquired in handling transgressors both locally and in peacekeeping missions.

He concluded his remarks by expressing his appreciation to Rwanda Forensic Institute representatives on behalf of RDF/MOD.

On behalf of the Director General of Rwanda Forensic Institute (RFI), Dr Justin Kabera, Chemistry Division Manager, highlighted the importance of forensic sample collection in investigating criminal cases and commended the leadership of the Rwanda Defence Force for its cooperation in enhancing the quality of justice.
