Rwanda and Egypt commend bilateral relations

Kigali: Today, Prime Minister Dr Ngirente Edouard and Dr Ali Abdel Aal, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Egypt commended the existing brotherly bilateral relations and cooperation between Rwanda and Egypt and expressed their commitment to strengthen this cooperation.

This took place today in Kimihurura, during the discussions held between the Premier and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Egypt, who is in Rwanda for a four-day visit.

The two leaders discussed and commended the bilateral relations and cooperation existing between the two countries, in various sectors such as health, commerce, air transport, agriculture, and security.

Prime Minister Ngirente hailed the cooperation existing between Rwanda and Egypt, saying that the two countries enjoy friendly and cordial relations and that they are all committed to further strengthen it towards the betterment of citizens of the both countries.

“The bilateral relations between Rwanda and Egypt has been there since the year 1970, agriculture and culture were the two main sectors of cooperation at the time, today the cooperation grew and extended to other important sectors that include health, agriculture, commerce, air transport environment and security,” said Prime Minister Ngirente.

Dr Ali Abdel Aal, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Egypt commended President Kagame and the people of Rwanda for the resilience and courage that lead to visible achievements after the country experiencing a tragic period of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi. (End)
