Rwanda, Brazil to enhance cooperation in defence

Brigadier General Célestin Kanyamahanga, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Rwanda, along with the Rwandan Ambassador to Brazil, Lawrence Manzi, are currently on a working visit to the Republic of Brazil’s Ministry of Defence HQs.

They were welcomed by Maj Gen Jose Ricardo Meneses Rocha, the Deputy Chief of Strategic Affairs in the Ministry of Defence.

Their discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the two countries in defence-related matters.

Rwanda and Brazil have a longstanding relationship since 1981. In 2019, both countries signed the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA). In 2011, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the promotion of South-South cooperation in agriculture strengthening and food security. (End)
