Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Yusuf Murangwa, welcomed USAID Rwanda Mission Director Keisha Effiom for a courtesy call today.
They discussed the progress of US-Rwanda cooperation under the five-year Development Cooperation Strategy and explored ways to align it with the second National Strategy for Transformation.
USAID began providing assistance to Rwanda in 1964. Since that time, the American people through USAID have provided humanitarian assistance and programs to strengthen the healthcare and education systems, increase economic opportunities, and promote good governance.
USAID provides U.S. foreign assistance to Rwanda along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Peace Corps, and the U.S. Department of Defense. (End)
