
Minister of Foreign Affairs Olivier Nduhungirehe is currently in New York, where he will address the UN Security Council today at 4:00 PM, Kigali time.
The meeting will be briefed on the situation in the Eastern DRC, including the work of the UN mission in DRC “MONUSCO”.
Security conditions quickly deteriorated in the eastern provinces of the DRC, with North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri being the most affected.
Violent clashes between armed groups in North Kivu and South Kivu forced people to flee their homes, including from and to areas where humanitarian access is limited. (End)
