RIB arrest three directors of the National Mining, Petroleum and Gas Authority

RIB (Rwanda Investigation Bureau) has arrested three directors of the National Mining, Petroleum and Gas Authority (RMB), namely Rwomushana Augustin, Kanyangira John and Niyongabo Richard.

They were also arrested along with four businessmen suspected of being accomplices in the crimes they were charged with.

A total of seven were arrested at RIB stations in Rwezamenyo and Nyarugenge.

They were charged with crimes including corruption, abuse of power, embezzlement and fraud.

RIB warns all those involved in corruption or abuse of power to refrain from such acts as they are punishable by law.

RIB also reminds Rwandans that corruption is a non-curse crime and that whenever evidence is found, they should report it so that those involved can be prosecuted. (End)
