The inauguration ceremony of the Rwanda Luban Workshop, established through collaboration between Zhejiang Jinhua Polytechnic of China and Rwanda Polytechnic, took place at the IPRC Musanze in the Northern Province of Rwanda.
Mr. Wang Xuekun, the Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, joined Mr. Maurice Mugabowagahunde, the governor of Rwanda’s Northern Province to attend the ceremony and inaugurate the Rwanda Luban Workshop. Also in attendance were the Mayor of Musanze district, Mr. BIZIMANA Hamiss, the Vice-Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic, Dr. Sylvie Mucyo, the Principal of the IPRC Musanze, Eng. Emile ABAYISENGA, along with other government officials, university leaders, Vice President of Jinhua Polytechnic, Dr. Chen Hairong and Technical Institute, and representatives from relevant departments and faculties.
Ambassador Wang Xuekun, in his speech, mentioned that in August this year, President Xi Jinping proposed the initiative of “helping Africa realize industrialization, modernization of agriculture, and human resources development” at the China-Africa Leaders’ Dialogue.
Recognizing vocational education as a crucial pathway for developing human resources, the establishment of the Luban Workshop in Rwanda is a tangible implementation of this initiative, signifying the deepening cooperation between China and Rwanda in the fields of cultural exchange and vocational education.
He expressed hope that by expanding collaboration in the workshop’s scope and enhancing personnel exchanges, both countries can further promote cooperation in vocational and technical education and other areas, strengthening mutual trust and deepening friendly relations.
Governor Mr. Maurice Mugabowagahunde stated that the Rwanda Luban Workshop will enhance the competitiveness of Rwandan students in both local and international markets. The collaboration in vocational education between China and Rwanda witnesses the profound friendship between the two peoples, and he hopes that both sides will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation.
Subsequently, the Ambassador along with the Governor and representatives from the university visited some of the teaching and training facilities, and then He granted interviews to mainstream media such as the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency and Xinhua News Agency.
