Following reciprocal visits from the Algerian and Rwandan Chiefs of Defence, a Rwanda military delegation led by the Director General of International Military Cooperation Brigadier General Patrick Karuretwa conducted a 3-day working visit to Algeria.
The visit aims to translate the growing relationship into concrete defence cooperation. The visit reflects the strong military cooperation between Rwanda and Algeria.
In September 2022, Rwanda’s Army Chief General Jean Bosco Kazura conducted a three-day official visit to Algeria. He held bilateral talks with his Counterpart Saïd Chengriha in the context of Defence Cooperation between Rwanda and Algeria.
Army General Saïd Chanegriha, the Algerian Army Chief, also visited Rwanda in February 2024. Speaking to the media, General Chanegriha emphasised the positive relations between the two armies and expressed their mutual intent to further enhance these ties through the visit. (End)
