Rwanda National Police, Djibouti Police Force sign cooperation agreement

Rwanda National Police (RNP) and Djibouti Police Force have signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize cooperation in various matters of law enforcement and fighting cross-border security threats.

The agreement was signed between Inspector General of Police (IGP) CG Felix Namuhoranye and the Director General of Djibouti Police Force, Col. Abdourahman Kahin,

This was on the sideline of the ongoing 26th EAPCCO Annual General Meeting, in Kigali.

The cooperation pact focuses mainly on fighting terrorism, drug trafficking and other transnational organized crime; exchange of information and expertise; training and capacity building.

Other areas include management of maritime and river security; fighting against currency counterfeiting, proliferation of small arms and light weapons; and timely exchange of information on criminals and criminal activities.

This agreement is another step in the right direction towards strengthening regional security and collaboration against the ever-evolving transnational organized security challenges. (End)
