Rwanda Security Force rehabilitates Ntotwe primary school in Mozambique

Cabo Delgado: At Escola Primaria de Ntotwe, 25Kms from Mocimboa da Praia(MdP) District, RSF(Rwanda Security Force) Joint Task Force Commander in Mozambique, Major General  Alex Kagame presided  over a hand over ceremony of Ntotwe primary school which was rehabilitated by RSF.

The School had been set ablaze by terrorists when they attacked and dispersed inhabitants of the village on 03 January 2024. The residents returned upon RSF intervention.

The terrorists moved to an adjacent village of Naquitenge in MdP District but RSF pursued them and was able to recover military equipment, bicycles and foodstuffs looted from the villages. The seized materials were handed over to the respective owners of Ntotwe and Chibanga villages.

 RSF therefore pledged to rehabilitate the burnt school and handed it over to authorities. In attendance were 3,000 MdP residents including Rwanda and Mozambican Defence and Security Forces.

Also distributed were 1,000 exercise books and 1,000 Pens delivered to 500 students whereas teachers were given Notebooks and Pens, as well as 680 mosquito nets to expecting mothers.

The RSF JTF Comd commended the district leadership for collaborating with RSF and assured the people of security. He called on residents to provide timely information on suspicious terrorist activities.

The District Administrator of Mocimboa da Praia, Mr Sergio Domingo Cypriano who spoke on behalf of the government of Mozambique, thanked the Rwanda and Mozambique Security Forces for successfully dislodging and defeating insurgents and bringing back normalcy to the people of Cabo Delgado. He further requested parents to send their children to schools and remain collaborative with Rwanda and Mozambican security forces.  (End)
