Rwanda Security Forces (Task Force Battle Group 3 ) operating in Ancuabe district, Cabo Delgado province, Mozambique handed over five renovated classrooms at Nacololo Primary School.
They also donated a variety of scholastic materials including 100 desks for the pupils, exercise books, pens, chalks, and pencils to more than 500 pupils.
Brigadier General Théodomille Bahizi, Task Force Battle Group 3 Commander indicated that the donation aims to express their gratitude for the existing friendship and collaboration between Rwanda and Mozambique armed forces.
“We came here as Rwanda defence forces to join efforts with the Mozambique armed forces (FADM), to bring back peace and security in Cabo Delgado, we know that education is the cornerstone of any form of development. Rwanda defence force is committed to continue working with our Mozambican colleagues to ensure that our mission is completed as required,” Brigadier General Bahizi said.
Benito Joaquim Santos Casimilo, Mayor of Ancuabe District, appreciated the effort of the Rwanda Defence Force for the scholastic materials provided to the school and the children at large and pledged his support whenever needed.
The school Headmaster, Faluki Silverio, acknowledged the significant impact of the donated materials in improving the quality of education for the students : “More than 500 pupils were sitting down without desks to sit on and didn’t have enough exercise books. The materials provided will facilitate the school and pupils to improve the quality of education”. (End)
