Rwanda Security Forces in Mozambique conduct community work in Macomia town 

Rwandan Security Force (RSF) deployed in Macomia district, Cabo Delgado Province, Mozambique participated in community work ‘’Umuganda’’ jointly with Mozambican Army and Police forces, local leaders and citizens.

Around 300 local citizens participated in cleaning sewage channels and cutting bushes in Macomia town and its outskirts in order to fight against malaria.

Mr  Thomas Mbadae, Administrator of Macomia District who spoke on behalf of the Mozambique government commended the Rwanda Security Forces for their support and contribution to peace security and stability  in Mozambique. He also encouraged the local population to continue participating in community based activities to contribute to national development.

On behalf of RSF in Macomia District, Maj Philbert KARANGANWA, commended the population and local leaders for their good collaboration and participation in improving living conditions in their neighborhood.

After the community work, RSF played a football match with local citizens of Macomia town, which ended in a goalless draw. RSF provided sports equipment for the local population to encourage them to engage in sports activities as part of their day to day recreational activities. (End)
