Kigali: The Rwanda U15 National team will take on South Sudan in the opening match of Group B of the CECAFA U-15 Championships on Saturday, August 17, 15:30 at Asmara International Stadium in Eritrea.
The tournament witnessed the withdrawal of Djibouti earlier in the week and has been reorganized into two groups with five teams each.
Initially, the teams had been divided into three groups with Djibouti pooled in Group C alongside Sudan and Tanzania.
The new changes have seen Sudan and Tanzania added to Groups A and B respectively this forming two groups of five teams each.
Following the reorganized draw, Group A will comprise of Kenya, Sudan, Burundi, Somalia and hosts Eritrea while Group B now has Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.
It is now all systems go in Group B on Saturday following a successful Group A action on Friday.
The Junior Wasps face South Sudan in the second game of the day which will be played after Uganda-Ethiopia action due at 1pm local time.
Rwanda will then take on Ethiopia next week on Wednesday, August 21, face Tanzania on Friday, August 23 and wind up with a tie against neighbors Uganda on Sunday, August 25, 2019.
The top two teams from each group will automatically qualify to the semis, set to be played on August 28, while the final has been scheduled for August 30, 2019, in Asmara. (End)
