Rwanda won “the Excellence Award for Best Stand Design and Decoration” at the annual Outbound Travel Market-2024 (OTM-2024), the leading travel and trade show in Asia.
The award criteria included Design, decoration, Presentation, Quality of promotional material and Visibility.
Joining 35,000 peers from 60 countries, Rwandan tour operators and travel agencies, RDB, and Rwanda High Commission in India highlighted Rwanda’s unique attractions to attract more visitors from India and the region.
Rwanda has been associated with OTM since 2016 and has always participated actively in its shows except during the two consecutive years of COVID-19 disruptions.
The concluded OTM 2004 ran from 8-10 February at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC, Mumbai, in India. It connected 35,000 travel professionals, more than 1600 exhibitors across 60 countries and 30 Indian states.
OTM-Mumbai is a renowned platform that gives space to various travel and tour companies operating globally and specifically from South Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
OTM shows have contributed immensely to the increase of Indian travelers to Rwanda, and the numbers have continued to grow with the air linkage between Rwanda and India when Rwandan National carrier RwandAir opened in 2017 its international direct flights Kigali-Mumbai-Kigali, and the new Rwandan visa regime that allows Indians, as citizens of the Commonwealth, to obtain 30-days free visa on arrival in Rwanda.
