The 26th Rwanda International Trade Fair 2023 officially opened on Monday, July 31, at Gikondo Ground under the usual reassured security.
Some 403 exhibitors from 22 countries are expected to take part in this year’s Expo edition, including 118 from other countries.
Commissioner of Police (CP) John Bosco Kabera, the Rwanda National Police (RNP) spokesperson, while addressing the media, said that measures have been undertaken to respond to any unforeseen circumstances.
“As a norm, during the international trade fair, everyone should feel safe to go about their businesses. There are measures in place to swiftly respond to any disaster such as fire; the Fire and Rescue Brigade has a standby station on the ground to respond to any related emergency,” CP Kabera said.
He urged all those going to the Expo to visit the RNP Fire and Rescue Brigade stand to learn how to avert fires and how to safely respond to fire emergencies.
With road traffic expected to be high especially along routes leading to the Expo ground, traffic control measures were also initiated to ensure easy flow.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Jean-Chrysostome Ngabitsinze, who officially opened the Expo, said that the international trade fair brings the difference.
He added that the Expo attracts international exhibitors bringing different products, and it’s commendable how it grows every year.
“We are happy how the young people continue to be creative. The Expo provides opportunities to share experiences and innovations in business,” Minister Ngabitsinze said. (End)
