The Speaker of the Rwanda Chamber of Deputies, Mukabalisa Donatille, with both Deputy Speakers, Edda Mukabagwiza and Sheikh M. Fazil, met with members of the Standing Committee for Foreign Trade and Development in the House of Representatives of the Netherlands.
Chamber of Deputies Bureau members and Netherlands MPs interacted on ways of collaboration and cooperation in a wider range of aspects of the bilateral relationship between the Netherlands and Rwanda with emphasis on trade and investment.
Speaker Mukabalisa highlighted the role of the Parliament in the development of Rwanda. She also mentioned the role of the parliament in overseeing the progress of the African Continental Free Trade Area, African Union reforms, and regional and international agreements.
Members of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands commended Rwanda’s progress in building unity and resilience, trade and economic opportunities after the Genocide against the Tutsi. They vowed to continue strengthening further the cooperation with Rwanda Parliament. (End)
