Kigali: The 2017 edition of the Peace Cup competition is scheduled to start on March 7 with knock-out qualification round matches.

According to the Rwanda  Football association, twenty two (22) clubs were today drawn to face each other in the preliminary round where 16 clubs will be determined to complete the 32-team roaster for the 1/16th round which is planned to start on April 19, 2017.

The knock-out qualification round which will be played on March 7-8 will produce 11 winners and five best losers to make it a total of 16 clubs.

The 16 clubs will then join the already best ranked 16 teams from last year’s Peace Cup competition to make it total of 32 ahead of the 1/16th round.

Rayon Sports are Peace Cup title holders after they edged APR Fc 1-0 in last year’s final to snatch a place of representing Rwanda at this year’s CAF Confederation Cup.

The Blues are already in the 1/16th round after thumping South Sudan’s Al Wau Salaam 6-0 on aggregate two weeks ago.

They will now face Onze Créateurs of Mali in the first leg of the 1/16th round on March 11 at Stade Modibo Keita in Bamako before hosting them in the Kigali on March 18 for the return leg Kigali.
