CHAN 2018: Rwanda arrives safely in Tanger, resume training on Friday evening

Kigali: The Rwanda contingent for the 2018 Africa Nations Championship in Morocco arrived safely from Tunis, Tunisia to Tanger, Morocco on Thursday afternoon.

The Amavubi team arrived in Tanger after a 10-day training camp in Tunisia where they played three friendly matches against Sudan, Namibia and Algeria.

The team which was received by the CAF and LOC officials is residing at Royal Tulip Hotel located in the heart of Tanger City.

The team will resume training on Friday evening, 6pm (8pm Rwandan time) and Saturday before training on the official Stade Grande de Tanger on Sunday night from 20:45 to 21:45 before Monday’s first game for Rwanda.

Rwanda is placed in Group C alongside 2014 champions Libya, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.

The Amavubi team will open its campaign at the Total 2018 CHAN Finals against Nigeria on Monday.

Meanwhile, Rwanda’s Group C foes, Libya, also arrived in Tanger later at 11pm (1am Kigali time) and will be residing at Hilton Garden Inn. Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea are expected in Tanger over the weekend.
