The Launch of the 2023-2024 Practical National Examinations

The Ministry of Education, through the National Examinations/ and School Inspection Authority (NESA), has announced the launch of the 2023-2024 Practical National Examinations. The official ceremony will take place at Saint Joseph Integrated College-Nyamirambo in the Nyarugenge District and at Rwamagana Hospital in Rwamagana District on June 18, 2024, at 8:00 AM. 

The Minister of State for Education, Irere Claudette will officially launch the TSS exams at Saint Joseph Integrated College. Concurrently, the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Yvan Butera, will launch the Associate Nursing Program (ANP) Practical Examinations at Rwamagana Hospital, where ANP candidates from GS St. Aloys Rwamagana will undertake their practical assessment. 

This assessment aims to evaluate the candidates’ skills, knowledge, and attitudes, ensure the effectiveness of the Competence-Based Training Curricula, and provide evidence for certification decisions.

 For Technical Secondary Schools (TSS), 330 schools with 35 trades will be involved, with a total of 26,482 candidates, including 14,506 males and 11,976 females. The practical examinations (integrated assessment) will be conducted in 203 selected exam centers nationwide, involving 4,183 assessors. 

The practical national exams for Associate Nursing Program (ANP) will involve 203 candidates from seven schools, with 100 males and 103 females and 54 assessors all of whom are registered healthcare professionals from hospitals and higher learning institutions. 

ANP candidates will undertake their Practical National Examinations at 7 hospitals: Gahini Hospital: Kabutare Hospital, Kibogora Hospital, Kigeme Hospital, Remera Rukoma Hospital, Ruhengeri Referral Hospital and Rwamagana Hospital.
