The Amavubi Stars who finished second in Group C will face Guinea who top seeded Group D in the Quarter Finals of the Total CHAN 2020 on Sunday January 31, 2021.
Rwanda Head Coach, Vincent Mashami acknowledges the quality of the Syli Local and vows to approach the game with discipline in a bid to snatch a place in the Semi-Final of this year’s tournament: ‘’Guinea is a very good team, they have good quality on the ball which is one of their strengths, we will cope with that by staying compact and staying true to our qualities. We want to win tomorrow’s game at all costs because it is the bridge towards our main objective.’’
Coach Mashami also praised the support the team has been receiving lately: ‘’We are very grateful for the support we have been given. We are gladder for the president’s support; we know he is a football man and him being behind us is an added bonus for us. We see that as an encouragement and we are blessed to have him, we’re going to give it our best shot so as to make him and Rwanda proud.’’
Skipper Tuyisenge is confident they will advance to the semis: ‘’We will play this game as a final, we know that within ourselves. Winning tomorrow’s game will boost our chances to achieve our main objective, we have got to stay positive and hopefully tomorrow we’ll dance Intsinzi.’’
