Rwanda Head Coach Vincent Mashami
Rwanda Head Coach Vincent Mashami has echoed an attacking approach for the last game of group C opposing the Amavubi Stars of Rwanda and the Hawks of Togo.
Rwanda trail Togo by one point after playing two goalless draws against Uganda and Morocco respectively while Togo lost against Morocco and won their game against Uganda. Speaking to the media ahead of the mouthwatering tie between both sides, Mashami pledged to pose attacking threat from minute one: ‘’It’s a very decisive game ahead of us, our all-round performance has been good but we lack goals which is our main objective going into this game. We are aware of their qualities with or without the ball, we need to be in our best form so that we can nullify this team. We have given all the ingredients to the players to see if they can be more decisive in the final third and we believe tomorrow we will score goals.’’
Skipper Jacques Tuyisenge is confident team work will help them qualify for the quarter finals: ‘’Every time we work together and work for each other we have proved to be unbreakable in the defensive side of our game, we also have to work as a team and pile pressure on the Togolese defense if we want to score goals. We did not come for tourism; we came here for competition and tomorrow is the day that will decide our fate. Our aim is to stay here and compete until the last day of the tournament.’’
Rwanda and Togo will play a deciding game on Tuesday January 26 at Stade Limbé in Buea with Kickoff scheduled at 9.00 PM Kigali Time. (End)
