
The U.S. Senior Advisor for Africa, Mr. Massad Boulos, and his delegation paid their respects to the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi at Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Through a guided tour of the exhibition, they gained deeper insight into its history, causes, realities, consequences, and Rwanda’s remarkable journey of recovery and rebuilding.
Mr. Massad Boulos is visiting the region at the backdrop of the conflict between DR Congo and the AFC/M23 rebels. Yesterday he met yesterday the Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
President Kagame and Massad Boulos had a productive discussion on partnerships to achieve long-term peace in the Great Lakes, and plans to scale up U.S. investment in strategic sectors in Rwanda and the wider region.
Rwanda is commemorating 31 years since more than one million Tutsi were killed by government-backed extremists. (End).
