The official event launch was held at the Kigali Marriott Hotel and was attended by the Honorable Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana, the Minister of Health, the U.S. Ambassador to Rwanda Eric W. Kneedler, and partners and stakeholders in the healthcare sector.

USAID Ireme, is an almost $25 million, five-year project (2023-2028) implemented by MSH, that aims to strengthen the leadership, resilience, and capacity of the Rwandan Healthcare System to sustain quality services and improve equitable health outcomes for Rwandans.
Together with three consortium partners- the Centre for Impact, Innovation, & Capacity Building for Health Information System & Nutrition (CIIC-HIN), the Health Information Systems Program (HISP) Rwanda, and the PharmAccess Foundation, Ireme will work closely with various Rwandan institutions and predominantly support the Ministry of Health in three key areas: (1) optimizing health financing for equitable access to high-quality healthcare; (2) strengthening leadership, management, and governance at all healthcare levels; and (3) enhancing the management of the health workforce to improve healthcare quality.
USAID Tubeho is a $60 million, five-year project (August 3rd, 2023-August 2nd, 2028) that aims to strengthen service delivery, support health program implementation across MNCAH, FP/RH, malaria services, and Global Health Security. It will contribute to capacity building for providers and institutions.
The project will be implemented by a consortium of eight local and international organizations led by Jhpiego. The project will increase access to availability and delivery of evidence-based, quality, and respectful Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health/Family Planning/Reproductive Health/Malaria services in alignment with national priorities and global standards and strengthen the ability of the entire health sector in Rwanda to respond to emerging global health threats.
A special component of the project will help increase the use of data and evidence for adaptive learning in programming related to malaria, maternal and child health, and family planning.
The United States, through USAID, continues to make significant contributions towards advancing health-related Sustainable Development Goals while adhering to the Government of Rwanda’s strategic priorities that fully align with Rwanda Vision 2050 and the National Strategy for Transformation in the health sector.
The overarching objective of all these interventions is to ensure that all Rwandans have universal access to equitable, affordable, and high-quality healthcare.
