Vessel operations training ends in Rubavu

Eighteen officers from Rwanda National Police (RNP) and Rwanda Defense Force (RDF), on Friday, June 21, completed a two-week “Vessel Boarding, Search and Seizure’ court conducted in Lake Kivu, Rubavu District.

The course was conducted in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

Commissioner of Police (CP) John Bosco Kabera, who presided over the closing of the course, thanked the trainees for their commitment and determination to complete the demanding course and to further develop their marine profession. He also thanked the trainers for ensuring a successful training.

“The real world challenges you will face in marine operations are vast and varied, but the skill acquired should make the difference,” CP Kabera told the trainees.

The training, he added, reaffirms the commitment of Rwanda National Police to build a capable marine force to ensure the safety and security of the people. (End)
