Kigali: Workers Affordable Property (WAP) Ltd, a property development company has entered into partnership with Hydroform International to produce cost effective and high quality building, promoting the exchange of skills and knowledge between the parties and enhance technical and quality assurance systems.
Part of the partnership agreement with WAP is to build Pre-Fabrication Technology Factory Complex here in Rwanda for direct production of Building Elements.
Harmony Kunu, the Chairman and CEO of WAP during the signing of the agreement said “This is a big mile stone for us as a construction company that aims at providing over 1,000 affordable houses every year across the country. The MOU between WAP and Hydraform International is a big achievement,”
“Our desire is to invest in people’s lives by creating housing opportunities and eco-friendly environment. Accessing our in-depth human resources and strategy of project execution for the benefit of all categories of the society” he added.
The partnership and sharing of technologies will enhance the construction systems while reducing costs as well as improve quality.
The CEO of Hydraform International, Robert Plattner accompanied by the Rwanda Regional Manager for Hydraform pledged their support to provide immediate technical needs that will be required.
Plattner said that Hydraform International has extensive and international experience in the development of interlocking building systems that they are willing to share with their new partners in Rwanda.
The signing ceremony of the agreement was conducted at WAP’s main office at Nobiscum house at Remera-Kisementi in Kigali and was later followed by a site visit to the construction site at Gahanga
The houses that WAP is building can be rented from those that buy them by giving them an advance of 12 month’s rent and also WAP manages the housing units on their behalf.
WAP which is part of the global Affordable Housing Developers provides housing units for mostly low and middle-income earners. To further consolidate the capability and capacity in delivering affordable housing and building elements across Rwanda, WAP Ltd has established partnerships with key building technology providers.
