Today, the standing Committee on National Guidance and Gender Matters of the National Assembly of Zambia visited the Isange One Stop Centre situated at Kacyiru Hospital to benchmark the holistic approach to services provided to victims of gender based violence and child abuse in Rwanda.
Zambia Members of Parliament (MPs) are in Rwanda for a study tour aimed at learning best practices from Rwanda.
Zambia MPs witnessed the role Isange One Stop Centre plays in response to sexual and gender based violence, and facilitating the judicial system.
The delegation appreciated the achievements registered by the centre as far as addressing Gender Based Violence (GBV) an child abuse is concerned.
Isange, which started in 2009 as a pilot project, offers free medical, psycho-socio and legal services to victims of gender based violence and child abuse. (End)
