Rwandan Police peacekeepers in Central African Republic join local residents in Umuganda

Rwanda Formed Police Unit Three second rotation (RWAFPU3-2) deployed in Bangassou under the United Nations Multidimensional Stabilization Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA) joined the local residents in Umuganda (communal work).

The communal work was also attended by CAR security organs (Army, Police and gendarmerie) and Moroccan army.

During the hygiene and sanitation exercise, the Rwandan peacekeepers and hundreds of residents cleaned the littered Maliko lépreux road and cleared bushes along the roads.

The Site of Maliko lépreux located in Mbomou Province in the east of the country, is under the protection of the Rwandan police peacekeepers.

RWAFPU3-2 contingent commander, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Methode Munyaneza thanked the local residents for the partnership in peace and security in the area.

CSP Munyaneza called for continued partnership in all human security matters, including sanitation, hygiene and protecting the environment. (End)
