Two Rwandan Police officers graduate from Singapore Police Training Command

Two Rwandan Police officers, on Wednesday, July 31, completed the Senior Officer Basic Course at the Singapore Police Training Command (TRACOM).

The pass-out ceremony of the 23rd intake was presided over by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) Deputy Police Commissioner, Lian Ghim Hua.

It was also attended by Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Jean De Dieu Uwihanganye, the First Secretary, Bertin Mugiraneza and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Barthelemy Rugwizangonga, Commissioner for Training in Rwanda National Police (RNP).

Anicet Mutabaruka and Silvain Ndayishimiye, who are among five allied students that attended the nine-month course, graduated with the rank of Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP).

Rwanda National Police RNP and Singapore Police Force signed a cooperation pact in August 2022, to partner in capacity development as well as fighting and preventing transnational organized crime.

The agreement also highlights cooperation in various training programmes, exchange of expertise, sharing of information, conducting coordinated operations, public security and public order.

Other areas of cooperation include fighting cybercrimes, trafficking in persons, online child sexual exploitation, money laundering, smuggling and trade in arms, ammunition and explosives. (Fin)
