During the ceremony, Ambassador FUKUSHIMA highlighted the importance of quality vocational education for adolescents to be financially independent and enrich their lives, which is a crucial factor of “Human Security.”

Human Security is a guiding philosophy of Japan’s development assistance and it focuses on protecting the lives, freedom, and quality of life of individuals, aiming for a society where all people can live with dignity.

Under the GGP program, the Government of Japan provides grants to local and international NGOs, educational institutions, health institutions and local authorities for their development projects at the grassroots level.

The Program has 35 years of history across the world in the fields of water, agriculture, health, sanitation as well as education.

Japan will continue its efforts to support and work with the population at the grassroots level in collaboration with the Government of Rwanda as well as NGOs. (End)
