Organizations, as the African Union, have urged in different forums to continental unity to stockpile, in good time, medicine and the necessary resources against the flu that has killed so far around 1,800 people worldwide.
The Five-day event will be attended by delegates from 46 countries, members of the WHO/AFRO Regional Committee, and will tackle the struggle against malaria, TB, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome and other illnesses.
They will also draw up policies to create centers of excellence in disease control and prevention and health laboratories, and will establish continental regulations on food consumption.
