Jordan Senators visit Rwanda parliament

Senate President, Dr. Kalinda Francois Xavier, and his Vice Presidents On August 6, 2024 received a courtesy visit from a delegation of Members of the Tourism and Heritage Committee in the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The delegation was led by Senator Abdul Hakim Hindi.

During their meeting, they discussed ways to promote cooperation and parliamentary diplomacy between Jordan and Rwanda.

“We are honoured to host a delegation from Jordan, as part of our two countries’ bilateral engagements to consolidate relations & cooperation in various areas, such as tourism, hospitality, investments, business, education, & the development of our financial ecosystems.” Dr Kalinda Francois Xavier.

“The President of the Senate sent an invitation to us so we can meet and see all the private sectors in Rwanda. We are here to fasten the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries, we are here to see what we are going to do next.” Sen. Abdul Hakim Hindi.

Jordan Senators also interacted with Members of the Economic Development and Finance Committee on Rwanda and Jordan opportunities with an emphasis on the tourism and hospitality sectors.

The Members of the Tourism and Heritage Committee in the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will be in Rwanda for 5 days. During their visit, they will have discussions with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as representatives from key public and private institutions in the tourism and investment sectors, such as the Rwanda Development Board and Public Federation Sector. They will also go on a guided tour of the Akagera National Park. The Members of the Tourism and Heritage Committee in the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will be in Rwanda for 5 days. They will also witness Rwanda’s resilience after the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994 while visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial and the Museum for the Campaign against Genocide. (End)
