The Prince of Wales Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla who arrived in Rwanda yesterday for CHOGM2022, today visited the Kigali Memorial to pay respect to over 250 thousand victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
They visited the wall of names at Kigali Memorial dedicated to those who died in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Each victim of the Genocide had a name and a face.
Guided by Freddy Mutanguha and Honoré Gatera, they learned more about the history of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda: causes, reality, and consequences and the journey towards reconciliation and rebuilding over the last 28 years.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall laid a wreath on the burial place at the Kigali Memorial in honour of the more than one million victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. (End)
