They toured the Memorial and got explanations on how the Genocide was planned and executed. Col Leonard Makunga from Kenya Defence Forces said that “It is really sad and shameful thing that ever happened. This is something that must never happen anywhere”

He added that countries from the region  have taken good measures such as putting in place the Eastern Africa Standby Force and said this and other measures are  good steps for spreading peace across the region.

The officers undergoing a two weeks Peace Support Operations Course came from EASF Member States of Burundi, Comoros, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda. (End)
