Rwanda attends REAIM Summit in Seoul

Today, in Seoul – Korea, a Rwandan delegation led by Minister of Defence is attending the ‘Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Military Domain Summit’ (REAIM), alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs Olivier Nduhungirehe and the Director General of International Military Cooperation Brigadier General Patrick Karuretwa.  

The REAIM Summit is an annual platform for global discussion amongst countries and various stakeholders on ensuring the responsible military application of AI.  Singapore is co-hosting the Summit alongside the  Netherlands, Kenya, and the UK.

This is the second international summit following REAIM 2023, which was held in the Netherlands, and it has been attended by numerous ministers and government representatives, as well as experts from the fields of research, industry and academia. 

The aim of the summit is to promote a common understanding of the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence (AI) and its responsible and lawful use in the military domain.  (End)
