Rwanda Finance Minister Murangwa received Ambassador of Luxembourg

Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Yusuf Murangwa welcomed Ms. Jeanne Crauser, the Ambassador of Luxembourg to Rwanda, for a courtesy visit today.

They talked about how to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries by building on existing agreements, including cooperation on the Kigali International Financial Center, air service agreement, and double taxation.

Recently, Rwanda has signed a series of agreements with Luxembourg including a double tax avoidance agreement (DTAA) and an MoU that aims to support Rwanda’s ambitions to become a financial hub for international investments in the region.

The Luxembourg (LuxSE) and Rwandan (RSE) stock exchanges signed a long-term MoU as a means to connect the financial markets in both countries.

In 2020, Rwanda’s Kigali International Financial Centre  was set up in a bid to consolidate Rwanda’s position as a gateway for investments on the continent.

Several Luxembourg companies are active in Rwanda and several others have indicated an interest to do business in the country. (End)
