Yesterday, on the last day of the AU (African Union) C5 Ministerial visit to South Sudan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olivier Nduhungirehe, met with Senior South Sudan Government officials including the Minister in the Office of the President, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Minister Nduhungirehe also held a bilateral meeting with Peter Marcello Nasir, Minister of Energy and Dams. They discussed advancing cooperation in the energy sector and progress in the Tumaini Initiative.
The C5 is a High-Level Ad Hoc Committee established by the African Union Commission to support ongoing mediation efforts to resolve conflict in South Sudan.
The committee (C5) is composed of five countries: South Africa (Chair), Algeria, Nigeria, Chad, and Rwanda in order to advance the peace process in South Sudan. (End)
