Rwandan peacekeepers under MINUSCA conduct community work in Bangui city

Rwandan peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) joined local leaders and residents along with the Minister of Planning, Economy, and International Cooperation, Dr. Filakota, who was also the Guest of Honour in community work (Umuganda) at Malabena Roundabout in Bangui City.  

The participants cleaned the road from Malabena Roundabout to the 5th Arrondissement office, clearing sidewalks and the sewage system.

Speaking at the event, RWABATT-1 Contingent Commander, Lt Col Alphonse Kigenza, emphasized that the activity aimed to encourage the local population and leaders to work together as a community, maintain cleanliness, and promote hygiene while strengthening collaboration between authorities and residents.

Mayor of Bangui City, Clip Alain Yemo expressed his gratitude to the Rwandan peacekeepers for their continuous support and commitment to this valuable initiative. (End)
